Day 2-August 2, 2011

Yes, we skipped a few days.  And yes, we were up at 4 in the morning.  But I guess that gave us an early start.  We sat around and "worked" on our computers for a while.  Got dressed around 7 and headed upstairs for the buffet breakfast.  Fresh watermelon, eggs, spring rolls and apple juice.  It was great, especially since we hadn't eaten for 18 hours.

After breakfast, we headed down to Harbor Front to the Exxon Expat Center. We got our MRT cards to ride.  That's the only thing that is cheap here.    Met with our "caseworker." Lydia has been a great help to Ernie throughout this whole move.  She has all the anwers.  Didn't have to stay there long.  Set up another meeting for Thursday to get Employee/ Dependent Passes.  Apparantly everyone has to have one to do just about anything over here.  Even to get phones.

We did some walking around the Harbor Front area and the big mall there.  Remember shopping is the pastime of Singapore.  My legs are still so tired.  Trying to stay awake longer today.  We came back to apartment to find our air crates got here.  It was like Christmas.  More stuff to find a place to store though is not fun.

Got out later in the afternoon and headed for the other end of Orchard Road.  Walked and Walked and Walked.  I should have great legs when you see me next.  Crashed about 8 or 9.
